


On the side of each Voyager aircraft rocket ship is something remarkable, even daring, in its ingenuity and optimism. Today, they remain the only spacecraft to have visited Uranus and Neptune and to have gone beyond into Interstellar space. 40 years ago, NASA launched the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft to explore the solar system.

And it's my pleasure right now to welcome to the stage professor Michael Kotlikoff, Provost of Cornell University, who will open tonight's event. Duncan professor in the Physical Sciences and Director of the Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science, and I'm your moderator for this evening's exciting event about the Voyager missions and the Voyager Records.
